Directions by Car
Directions from M4 (Westbound)
- Leave the M4 at Junction 29 to join the A48(M). The A48(M) is known in its later stretches as Eastern Avenue (A48).
- Leave Eastern Avenue at the 4th Exit (known as Gabalfa) following the signs for City Centre.
- At the roundabout take the second exit (North Road A470) again signposted City Centre.
- Now follow Directions from M4 (Westbound and Eastbound) below.
Directions from M4 (Eastbound)
- Leave the M4 at Junction 32 to join the A470 (Northern Avenue) in the direction of Cardiff.
- Continue on the A470 for approximately 3 miles. You will use a flyover to cross over a roundabout (known as Gabalfa).
- Now follow Directions from M4 (Westbound and Eastbound) below.
Directions from M4 (Westbound and Eastbound)
- Carry straight on down North Road, keeping left at the third set of traffic lights where the road forks (into Colum Road).
- Go straight on at the next set of traffic lights into Park Place. This will bring you past the main college buildings.
- Turn left at the next traffic light junction into St. Andrews Place.
- After passing under the railway bridge, turn immediately left into Senghennydd Road.
- After passing some houses you will see a black building (which is the Centre for Lifelong Learning) on the left. The Mathematics Institute is the brown brick building adjoining it.
- Please note if you are parking on Senghennydd Road you will need to make payment at one of the Pay and Display machines:- (1 hour £1.50. 2 hours £2.50. 5 hours £3.00).
- An alternative to on-street parking is to use the public multi-storey car park off St. Andrews Place - turn right at the traffic lights before going under the railway bridge.
- Please note that the majority of the remaining on-street parking within the vicinity of the Mathematics Institute is designated "Residents only".
