The Master’s Dissertation provides an opportunity for students to incorporate experience of working for an employer of Operational Researchers and Statisticians through a summer project, working on a “real-world” problem of importance, thus allowing the student to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the skills they have acquired in the taught part of the programme.  The project will allow students to develop skills of enquiry and innovation and enhance the critical and communication skills of the student.  The project is therefore a critical element of the MSc programme and if successfully passed converts the Postgraduate Diploma to the Masters qualification.
